Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Zippee Homes (“Zippee Homes”, “the Platform”, “we”, “us”) is a multi-service marketplace operated from the Republic of Liberia. Our services include Real Estate, Stay, Jobs and the Employer Portal, Local Services, and related community features on zippeehomes.com and our mobile apps.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and the rights and choices you have. By using the Platform you agree to this Policy and our Terms & Conditions.

2. What data we collect

Depending on how you use Zippee Homes, we may collect:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, date of birth (where provided), account type/role, and optional profile photo.
• Identity verification (sellers, hosts, service providers, employers where required): government-issued ID, selfie, and business documents — stored privately.
• Listings and media: property, stay, job, or service details, prices, descriptions, photos, optional video links, and map location you set.
• Bookings, applications, and requests: BNB booking details, job applications and résumés/CVs, service requests, appointments, and status.
• Messages: content of conversations you exchange with other users on the Platform.
• Reviews, favorites, and preferences: ratings, saved listings, search filters, and notification preferences.
• Location: with your permission, device location to center maps and show nearby listings. You can decline in device settings.
• Device and usage data: IP address, basic technical and log information, diagnostic data, session identifiers, and a push-notification token if enabled.
• First-party analytics: aggregated usage events (such as searches, listing views, and contact taps) stored in our database to improve the Platform and show sellers basic performance stats — not sold to ad networks.
• Payments: we do not collect card or bank account numbers for most peer-to-peer deals settled between users off-platform. We may record optional paid-feature payment submissions pending admin confirmation. If platform payment processing is enabled for a service, we will collect only the payment data needed for that flow and update this Policy.
• Support and safety: support emails, reports, appeals, fraud-prevention signals, and security logs.
• Terms acceptance: timestamps and policy version when you agree to updated Terms.

3. How we use your data

We use your information to:

• Create and manage accounts and roles (buyer, seller, host, job seeker, employer, service provider).
• Publish listings, power search and discovery, and show items on a map.
• Enable messaging, bookings, job applications, hiring tools, appointments, and notifications.
• Verify identity where required for trust and safety.
• Investigate reports, prevent fraud, secure accounts, and enforce our Terms.
• Run rewards, referrals, and optional paid features.
• Improve the Platform and provide customer support.
• Send transactional communications about your account, bookings, or security.
• Comply with applicable law.

4. Marketing communications

We may send optional promotional messages about Zippee Homes features where permitted. You can opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us. Transactional messages (account security, booking updates, support replies) are separate and may still be sent when needed to operate the service.

5. Third parties and how information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Platform:

• With other users: public profile name and listing details you publish; messages you send them. Contact details may be limited to signed-in users or withheld until a booking or protected flow confirms.
• With service providers who process data on our behalf: database, authentication, and storage (Supabase); web hosting (Vercel); maps and geocoding (Mapbox, OpenStreetMap/Nominatim where used); push notifications (Expo/APNs/FCM); and email delivery. They may only process data to provide services to us.
• For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law or lawful requests, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud or harm, or protect users and Zippee Homes.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls, database row-level security, and private storage for identity documents. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.

7. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete individual listings and request account deletion.

After deletion, we retain only information legitimately needed or legally required — for example fraud-prevention records, financial confirmation, security logs, dispute resolution, legal holds, or backup systems that purge on their normal cycle. We do not promise that every byte disappears instantly on deletion day if backups or legal requirements apply.

8. Your rights and choices

• Access and update your profile, listings, and content in the app or website.
• Delete individual listings, or request deletion of your entire account (Legal footer → Delete Account).
• Control device permissions: location, camera, photos, and notifications in device settings.
• Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing support@zippeehomes.com.
• Withdraw consent by stopping use of the Platform and/or contacting support.

9. Deleting your account

You can request deletion from the mobile app (Profile → Delete my account), through Delete Account in the website’s Legal footer, or by emailing support@zippeehomes.com from your account email.

Deletion requests deactivate your account immediately and schedule permanent deletion after a 30-day grace period. You may cancel deletion during the grace period in the app or by contacting support. If not canceled, deletion proceeds on or after the 31st day. See Delete Account in the Legal footer for steps.

10. Children and teens

Zippee Homes permits account creation from age 13. Users must be 18 or older to post listings or enter transactions requiring legal capacity.

We do not knowingly collect more personal information from minors than needed to operate the service they use. Users aged 13–17 may have additional privacy obligations under applicable law — this section requires review by qualified legal counsel before relying on it commercially.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. International users and processing

The Platform is operated from Liberia and serves users in Liberia, the diaspora, and internationally. By using it, you understand your information may be processed in Liberia and by the service providers listed above, which may operate in other countries.

If mandatory consumer or privacy rights apply to you outside Liberia, those rights are not eliminated by this Policy or our Terms.

12. Privacy under Liberian law

We respect the right to personal privacy recognized under the Constitution of the Republic of Liberia and applicable Liberian law. Where Liberian law gives you specific rights over your personal information, we will honor them.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new effective date on this page and, for significant changes, provide notice in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy where permitted by law.
