Zippee Homes is a Liberian technology platform built so people inside and outside the country can discover real estate, short stays, local services, and jobs with more clarity — and with trust at the center of the work.
Our Story
Zippee Homes started because of a real problem with finding property in Liberia.
The founder kept hearing the same stories from friends and people close to him: someone would pay a local agent to help find a home, land, or rental — and then that person would stop responding, fail to deliver, or never return the money. Someone personally close to him went through it herself. She paid several different people while trying to find a place in Liberia. Some could not deliver what they promised, and the money paid to them was never recovered.
He also lived the difficulty from the diaspora. While living outside Liberia and wanting to purchase land, build, or invest back home, it was hard to find reliable information, trustworthy people, and one place where properties could actually be discovered from abroad.
Why should someone have to depend completely on word of mouth, or send money to people they barely know, just to find property in Liberia?
That question became one of the reasons Zippee Homes was created — to give people living inside and outside Liberia a better starting point to discover property for sale or rent, and to keep building a system centered on transparency and trust.
We do not claim that Zippee Homes can guarantee every transaction or that bad actors will never appear. No platform can promise that. What we are building is a more transparent and trustworthy place to begin — with clearer listings, communication, and accountability tools as the platform grows.

Meet the Founder

Founder & CEO of Zippee Homes
Otis is not presenting himself as a politician, celebrity, or someone making grand promises. He is someone who saw problems affecting people in his country — friends, family, and Liberians in the diaspora — and decided to take responsibility for trying to solve some of them.
Building Zippee Homes has required personal time, energy, finances, research, development, and people on the ground in Liberia. He personally feels that this work is part of the role God has given him to play for Liberia — shared here with respect, not as a sermon, but as part of why he has stayed with it.
His focus is practical: use technology so people can discover options, compare listings, and reach hosts, agents, owners, and providers with less friction — whether they live in Liberia or are searching from abroad.
Why Zippee Homes Grew Beyond Real Estate
When I started Zippee Homes, real estate was the focus. But as I talked with people, I realized the same question came up again and again: “Who do I call that I can trust?” People were starting from scratch every time. Calling a friend, calling another friend, and starting over if it didn't work out. I kept thinking, why should that be so hard?
That is how Local Services, Zippee Stay, and the job marketplace became part of the same idea — not separate products for their own sake, but answers to the same everyday need for trust and visibility.
Local Services
Finding everyday service providers in Liberia can still depend heavily on word of mouth. Need an electrician, plumber, refrigerator repair, contractor, photographer, DJ, caterer, decorator, mechanic, technician, or another local professional? You may call several people before finding someone. If the first recommendation does not work out, the whole process starts over.
Zippee Homes Local Services was created to make those providers easier to discover in one place — and, as the platform develops, to help build more accountability through profiles, communication, reviews, bookings, and platform activity.
There is also something positive about Liberia worth naming: people celebrate life. Weddings, graduations, birthdays, parties, family gatherings, and other events create real opportunities for DJs, photographers, caterers, decorators, and other entrepreneurs. Zippee Homes should help those service providers become easier to find and give them another way to grow their businesses.
Zippee Stay
The founder has traveled from the United States back to Liberia and understands why some travelers want something different from a traditional hotel. Sometimes people want a quiet, comfortable place where they can cook their own food, spend time with their partner or family, have more privacy, and stay somewhere that feels more like home.
People in Liberia are already offering apartments, homes, guest houses, hotels, and other short-stay accommodations — but many of those opportunities still spread mainly through social media or word of mouth. Zippee Stay was created to bring those options into one organized platform.
Another major reason is the diaspora property owner. Many Liberians living abroad own property in Liberia and want to generate income from it through short stays. Managing bookings, guests, property caretakers, and payments from another country can create trust problems.
Our goal for Zippee Stay is to make this process more organized and, as the platform develops, more automated — so property owners can manage their business with greater visibility, including receiving eligible payments through the platform rather than depending completely on cash being collected by someone on the ground.
Jobs Marketplace
The job marketplace was added because another common problem in Liberia is the lack of communication during hiring. Many people physically submit resumes or applications to companies and then hear nothing. They do not know whether the application was opened, reviewed, under consideration, heading toward an interview, or already declined. They may keep waiting with hope even when the employer has moved on.
The goal of the Zippee Homes job marketplace is a clearer application process — where employers can post opportunities and applicants can receive status updates as their application moves through the process. Where supported by the platform, this may include notifications when an application is reviewed, an interview is requested, or an application is declined.
Even a rejection gives someone information. Silence gives them nothing.
If a person knows an opportunity did not work out, they can move forward and apply somewhere else instead of waiting indefinitely.

Building It Has Not Been Easy
One of the biggest challenges has been finding the right people I can trust and work with. Building a platform like this isn't a one-person job, and doing it from outside Liberia makes it even tougher. Sometimes after real progress it felt like starting over. But if I walked away just because it was hard, I'd be doing what everyone else did — walking away from a problem that needs solving. That's why I'm still here, still building. I believe Liberia deserves technology that helps people connect with more confidence.
Every step has taken real investment — time, energy, money, research, development, and people working on the ground in Liberia. Progress has not always been linear. The commitment has stayed the same: keep building something that helps people feel more secure in everyday decisions about property, stays, services, and work.
What Success Means to Us
For me, success for Zippee Homes is simple. It's when people say, “I trust this platform.” I don't have to chase agents, I don't have to wonder if my money's gone, and I don't have to sit in silence wondering what happened. If we can help people feel more secure and connected in everyday things, that's the win.
Over the next 5–10 years, the goal is for Zippee Homes to become one of the most trusted digital platforms connected to Liberia — not simply the biggest website, but a place people tell good stories about:

One deeper hope is to help reduce — even in a small way — the culture of dishonesty, scams, lack of accountability, and corruption that can damage trust. We are not claiming Zippee Homes will end corruption in Liberia. If we can help reduce even a small part of the distrust surrounding property, bookings, services, payments, and other everyday transactions, that would already be meaningful progress.
Liberia remains the priority. After establishing a strong foundation at home, the vision may include expansion into other African markets. The founder also believes that once Zippee Homes successfully addresses these problems, there are other challenges facing Liberia he hopes to work on in the future.
Trust & Safety
Building a safer marketplace is ongoing work. Zippee Homes provides tools and processes that help reduce risk — but not every listing is independently verified, and no platform can eliminate every bad actor. Always use good judgment, verify details yourself, and report anything that looks suspicious.

Sellers, hosts, and providers can complete verification and credential steps so the platform can better understand who is posting.
Listing moderation
Staff tools support review of listings and related content when something needs a closer look before or after it goes live.
Report suspicious activity
Signed-in users can report listings, jobs, and community posts so our team can investigate issues that do not look right.
Image & duplicate safeguards
Upload and moderation tooling helps catch unsafe images and reduce low-quality or duplicate-style content over time.
Owner blocking
Users can block listing owners they no longer want to interact with, which helps personal safety on the marketplace.
